One of the worst PC threats you can encounter today is NEVADA Ransomware. It is a new crypto malware that can encrypt users’ personal data and add \u201c.NEVADA\u201d extension to their names and thus cannot be opened or used by any software and that is why this is going to be the focus of today.<\/p>\n
As we saw earlier, NEVADA encrypts files, adds the “.NEVADA” extension to filenames, and drops its ransom note into the folders containing the recorded files for example: it changes “1.jpg” to “1.jpg.NEVADA”, and so on.<\/p>\n
In most cases, it is impossible to recover files without the intervention of attackers, unless a functional decryption tool is accessible online or a backup copy of the data is available.<\/p>\n
As we always say, it is not advisable to pay the ransom as there is no guarantee that the attackers will provide the necessary decryption tools and you will only be reinforcing them. Immediate removal of the ransomware from the operating system is also crucial to prevent further file encryption and possible activation on other computers.<\/p>\n
