With the passing of time we accumulate many passwords to access the multiple services that we have. There are many accounts that we create, access to platforms and many keys to manage. If we do things right, one of the most important tips is to use a unique key for each record. It is a mistake to have one for multiple accounts. Now, it is also difficult to remember all of them. That is why we use password manager, but of course this has its bad things as in everything.
Advantages that password manager offer us
One of the main advantages of using a password manager is being able to create and use large keys. We don’t need to remember a password that is long, with random letters, numbers, and other characters. It is recommended to create a password that is as long as possible and contains random symbols. This is difficult at times when we create it ourselves. Even more remember them. However, thanks to this type of tool, it is easier.
Works on multiple devices
We can store the passwords on our computer and mobile, for example. It is a way to always have our keys available.
Log in automatically
Thanks to having a password manager we can automatically log into our accounts. We don’t need to go one by one to do it. Just have this tool and we can save time.
Disadvantages of using it
Password managers are a way to move wrong habits from physical life to digital life, it is just as bad to write your passwords on a piece of paper as it is to keep them all together in one program. I don’t trust password managers. Not for thinking that they are not secure, it is only the case of not knowing which security protocol they are using, how they deal with our information and if the data is properly encrypted.
Likewise, it cannot be ruled out that this program or service may stop working for some reason. Either a specific failure or something more permanent. It could affect our passwords a lot and we could lose some if we don’t remember them.
