Software developer with binary system reflecting on him

The Infostealer is a Trojan horse that steals information. It is a privacy threat that uses its functionality as a keylogger to collect confidential information such as passwords, credit card numbers, and online banking details. Infostealer will send the stolen information to a remote server where an attacker can access it and use it in fraudulent activities. Use a reliable anti-spyware program to remove this threat from your PC before it causes too much damage.

Take, for example, the operation of an Android banking Trojan that we saw spread in 2017. The user receives an SMS with a link to download an application with funny videos. When they are installed, they are asked to accept the app’s permissions. The user certainly does it without checking, because anyway no one understands all these permissions and in fact the application did have some real funny videos inside it, even so, his real job is to wait for him to open his banking application. When it sees you doing this, it searches its banking app library and uses the permission you gave it to draw on the top of your banking app’s login screen with a fake exact copy of the login screen. Which if you enter your login details, they steal your username and password.

Also, while money is the main cause and most common reason for information theft attacks, this is not the only reason. As with iCloud and many similar cases, the information on the most vulnerable people in our societies (women, children, etc.) is specifically directed by those who seek to exploit these people or cause violence to them and it is already known that there are Shameless “legal” companies that sell stalking software, marketing it specifically to domestic abusers, abusive parents, and stalkers in order to spy on and control their targets. And that is why we have always said that although cybercriminals seek an economic benefit, they do not always go for the money because one’s personal information is also money.
