Threats are always at the order of the day, and cybercriminals are constantly updating to commit crimes. This time it is a malware called Joker that is infecting thousands of Android phones, and putting users’ bank accounts at risk by stealing credit card credentials and keys. This malicious program works once you download an infected application from the Play Store, it is designed to secretly register users on some subscription services, something that they will not even notice unless they are very cautious when checking their credit card account statements.

The virus works in two phases, and its danger is not only that it steals your data, but it also steals money in real time. Google Play Protect reported that it removed 1,700 unique applications from the malware family from the Play Store before users could download them. In fact, he added that you can also defraud via SMS.

The first time that Google detected this program was in 2017, when hackers managed to subscribe users through Premium SMS and in this way steal their money without them knowing what happened.

The first thing cybercriminals do is launch a clean version on the Play Store; later they upload false positive reviews about the app for people to download this service, and once users start the download then the developer releases an update that already contains the malware.

A statement was made to users to pay attention to the apps that download, only download those that are official or authenticated and install those that are obtained directly from the official store, although the most convenient thing is to only download applications from the official pages.

It is known that these applications: Advocate Wallpaper, Antivirus Security, Security Scan, Climate SMS, Display Camera, Board picture editing, Ignite Clean, Rapid Face Scanner and of course there may be many others that have not yet been detected are used for the purposes malicious programs already mentioned Joker, so if you have any of these installed, delete them IMMEDIATELY!.
