Microsoft does not rest when it comes to developing Windows 10 and users enrolled in Microsoft’s Insider program receive a new version of the operating system, a version that is characterized by bringing functions and features that, although they are experimental, have many possibilities of ending forming part of the final version of Windows 10. With 20H2 already finished, the company has long been focusing all its efforts on what will be the first update of 2021: Windows 10 21H1. And so the new build 20211 reaches users.

Microsoft has announced the launch of the new Build for users who belong to the Dev Channel. It is compilation 20211 that arrives preparing the way for future versions of Windows 10 that should reach our teams, so there are some notable novelties. The Build 20211 for Insiders on the Dev Channel, which can now be downloaded, stands out for the possibility that it now offers to access Linux files that are not natively compatible with Windows in case of having a dual boot with Windows and Linux.

The Windows SDK continues to grow at the same rate as developments in the Dev Channel. Whenever a new build of the OS goes through the development channel, the corresponding SDK will also be released.

In this new build (update) several innovations has been added such as:

An option which allows you to search the default application pages in Settings. This change allows searching the lists of file types, protocols, and applications by setting a default value.

This release adds the ability for users to connect and mount a physical disk within a WSL 2 distribution and access file systems that are not natively supported by Windows. Something very useful for those cases in which you have a dual boot with Windows and Linux and are using different disks.
