Aspera’s Fasp transfer technology is innovative software that eliminates the fundamental shortcomings of conventional TCP-based file transfer technologies such as FTP and HTTP. For this reason, Fasp transfers achieved speeds hundreds of times faster than FTP/HTTP and provided guaranteed delivery time regardless of file size, transfer distance, or network conditions, including transfers over satellite, wireless, and long-distance and inherently unreliable international links.

Importantly, FASP provides full visibility into bandwidth usage and extraordinary control over transfer speeds and shared bandwidth with other traffic on the network. Security is built in, including secure endpoint authentication, up-to-the-minute data encryption, and integrity checking. This protocol for transporting large data packets implements its own mechanism, a theoretically proven system that accurately identifies and retransmits the real loss of packets in the channel. Packet loss is about 10% so it achieves 90% bandwidth usage with less than 1% redundant data overhead.
