So do this we will need to download and install the WinSCP program, this is a free software application. Its main function is to facilitate the secure transfer of files between two computer systems, the local and a remote one.

On this website you can find different installation packages. Download the latest stable package (other than beta) with different languages ​​included.

In the installation choose the language and a shortcut will be created in the start menu and desktop.

Open the program and a window like this will appear:

In that window you must fill in the fields with your data.

▸Protocol: FTP, is the protocol that you should always use to be able to connect with your accommodation.

▸Name or IP of the server: the domain to which you want to connect, or if you do not have the domain, you can put the IP.

▸Port: the port has to be 21.

▸User: this box corresponds to the FTP user.

▸Password: the password of the FTPs user.

Once you have entered your information, the main page of your accommodation will open. It will look something like this:

In the left window appear the folders from the files saved on your computer. While the files that you create in your hosting will appear in the window on the right.

To upload the files and / or directories to the server, you just have to select them and drag them to the directory you want.
