Google is immersed in the development of a new operating system. With Fuchsia OS, the technology group abandons the Linux architecture and instead turns to Zircon, a microkernel developed by the giant itself. Fuchsia could not only replace the Chrome OS desktop operating system, but also Android, designed for mobile devices.
This is a system full of mystery, since today we do not know much about this system and we have not received any news for more than a year.
The term Fuchsia designates a modular rights-based real-time operating system that Google has been developing since 2016. The system is written, among others, in C, C ++, Dart , Go and Rust and should work with 64-bit Intel ARM processors.
How Fuchsia OS works?
The main difference of Fuchsia OS compared to the rest of Google’s operating systems is its modular construction, a characteristic that is reflected not only in the modular architecture of the system, but also in a completely new approach to the application concept.
It was announced that the programming languages that can be used in Fuchsia OS, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of each of them, something that could be appreciated in order to have a more secure operating system. Without going into technical details this is a big step for the system, although it does not mean that its first launch is close.
In this analysis, 5 programming languages have been detailed, giving approval and support for C, C ++ and Dart as the main languages of the platform. And although Rust and Python do not have support for developers, they do have approval to be used on this operating system.
One of the most interesting details of the breakdown is one of the advantages of Dart, a programming language created by Google itself. Most of the Fuchsia user interface is written in Dart, using Flutter. And what is Flutter? It is a development kit created by Google itself that can be integrated into Android Studio itself. This kit allows you to create applications on multiple systems such as Android, iOS or devices with Google which is a product that is held in high esteem and waiting to see how it will be.
