Operating systems, web browsers, and even our Internet provider are constantly monitoring our activity. The companies behind it often collect usage information, sometimes anonymous and sometimes not so, that is used both to improve the product and for commercial purposes. Achieving maximum privacy today is very difficult. However, there are operating systems, such as Kodachi, that are focused on this.

Kodachi is a Debian-based Linux distribution that comes with Tor, a VPN, and DNSCrypt. The desktop environment is integrated with custom scripts that allow you to manage everything using a good looking graphical interface. With the Conky utility you can view real-time information about your Internet connection. The assigned VPN IP, Tor country exit node, open ports, CPU and RAM spikes, as well as bandwidth consumption are displayed in the background while browsing the Internet.

One of the fundamental pillars of this Linux distro is its ease of use. From the moment we start the distro for the first time, we already have the system fully functional and safely configured. This connects through a VPN network to the Internet, forwarded by Tor and with services such as DNSCrypt so that anonymity is maximum without having to be aware of any configuration.

From the first moment we connect to the Internet, all connections are protected, achieving a high level of anonymity. All connections are sent through the VPN and, from there, to the Tor network, being impossible to trace or identify. It also has advanced cryptography systems to encrypt files, emails and instant messages.

Something that stands out a lot about this distro is its: «panic room». If something goes wrong and our Internet security, privacy or anonymity is compromised, here we will find everything you need to perform an emergency hard drive erase, clean RAM and completely destroy Kodachi. After using these tools, it will be impossible to perform any type of forensic analysis on the system or find a single byte about us, cleaning all past traces and leaving it as if nothing had happened.
