Main Features of BlackArch Linux

BlackArch Linux is an Arch Linux-based penetration testing distribution for those conducting penetration testing and security research.

The repository contains 2,116 tools (and it’s growing larger). You can install the tools individually or in groups. BlackArch Linux is compatible with existing ArchLinux installations or ArchLinux-based distributions. For more information, see the installation instructions. Also, the news is published on our blog.

Ethical hacking distros, such as Kali Linux, or BlackArch, are a type of operating system designed especially for advanced users, amateurs and security experts who are looking for a work tool that is as comfortable and complete as possible that allows them to save time in installing tools and settings. These distros usually come with all kinds of programs and tools installed by default. And although they may all look the same at first glance, each distro has its own characteristics.

Black Arch is similar to using Parrot OS and Kali Linux when fully installed. However, a significant difference between the other two distributions and BlackArch is that the latter does not provide a desktop environment, but rather several preconfigured window managers. Like Kali and Parrot, BlackArch can be burned to an ISO image and run as a live system.

We can download the typical Live ISO image to run without it installed, or install it from the ISO, on any computer. Or also the Netinstall, which is much smaller and will download all the necessary packages during installation.

We will also have several images already compiled for virtual machines, so if we are going to use BlackArch from VMware or VirtualBox we can save time installing them.
