When it comes to image editing, many people automatically think of complete design suites such as: Krita, Gimp, Photoshop … But this does not turn out to be entirely true as there are users who are only looking for an editor to do simple things such as, for example, annotations on images. Although Windows includes the iconic MSPaint app, on Linux finding an application with similar characteristics is a bit tedious. That is why the developer “maoschanz” has launched the new Drawing app which is designed to offer an Out-The-Box experience similar to MSPaint on Linux.

Drawing Features

This new image editing application in Linux supports the most popular formats: PNG, JPEG and BMP. As for the most relevant functionalities, we have the following:

▸Support for text input in Canvas

▸Tool to select rotations, scaling, flipping and cuts.

▸It has selection tools, shapes, lines and brushes.

Although this Drawing is intended to be used in GNOME graphical environments, it offers good compatibility with the environments: Elementary, Cinnamon and MATE.

Regarding the supported languages, this app supports the following until now: Portuguese, Spanish, German, English, French, Hebrew, Italian, Russian and Turkish
