Main Features of Kali

Kali Linux is the upgraded and revamped version of the BackTrack distro, created by Offensive Security. The distro is based on Debian, while Backtrack turned to Ubuntu for the creation of its programming.

Its main objective is to make available to the user, the best tools to work the audit on the internet and to have a powerful computer security system against the dangers that may exist.

Many hackers find in this distro, the perfect mechanism because through audits carried out on the internet they find which are the weak points of the network. As a result of this knowledge, they gain the path to begin their attack on other computer systems and networks that connect to the internet.

Although, in return, it is also used by ethical hackers, who are dedicated to auditing information systems to combat illegal hacking activities, as well as performing forensic analysis after an attack. The procedure is simple, they analyze the deficiencies of the system and study its origin, until they reach the solution that can eradicate the possible vulnerabilities used by cybercriminals to attack our systems.

Installation

Allows installation on i386, amd64 and ARM architectures (armel and armhf). For the i386 architecture, in the image of Kali, it comes with a PAE kernel by default, so it can be run on systems with more than 4gb of ram. The image can be installed from a DVD or use a live distribution from usb. It also allows installation via network and provides images for downloading virtual machines prefabricated with installed VMWare tools.

As systems based on ARM Architecture are more and more frequent and low cost, Kali Linux has ARM repositories integrated with the main distribution line so that the tools for ARM are updated along with the rest of the distribution. Kali is available for the following ARM devices:
