Q4OS is an open source Debian-based German Linux distribution with a lightweight and novice user friendly interface, offering a desktop environment called Trinity, also known as TDE Trinity Desktop Environment, similar to that of Windows XP and Windows 7 directly.

The main features that we see in this distro and why Q4OS is a very good option is that it focuses on stability, security, speed and long-term reliability.

This Linux distribution, along with others such as Chalet OS3 and Zorin OS, has an approach specifically geared towards users familiar with Windows, with an appearance previously configured to be similar to that of that Microsoft Operating System.

As we saw, not only allowing us to have a look similar to Windows XP, we can also emulate environments such as Windows 2000, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, as well as Windows XP. A luxury for those who like this new look or for those who come from Microsoft operating systems and need this aspect that reminds them of their old operating system.

It must be said that Q4OS can be downloaded in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, as well as for ARM. Once we have the distro on our computer, we can install XPQ4, whose installer will give us a preview of what we will see once it is installed. And if we already installed WINE, Play On Linux, Skype, Office, etc., we could come to think that we are really using Windows.
